Deborah J. Hughes, Executive Director
Deborah is a lawyer admitted to practice in Michigan and Iowa. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Iowa College of Law. Deborah came to West Michigan after many years of private practice in Iowa. She started at the LAC as a volunteer and board member. She has been Executive Director since 2012.

Jessica Sroczynski, Program Administrator
Jessica has a BS in Writing and Legal Studies from Grand Valley State University. Jessica started at the LAC as a volunteer in 2021 and joined the staff in 2022.

Nicole Dunn, Legal Services Specialist
Originally from Scotland, Nicole is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde with an undergraduate degree in international law. With experience working with refugee families and communities, Nicole joined the LAC staff in 2024.

Lydia Denning, Program Assistant
Currently a Legal Studies Major at Grand Valley State University, Lydia joined the LAC staff in 2025.
